Landed a medium-sized specimen of this whipray yesterday afternoon. Can anyone confirm if this is Himantura uarnak? Or is it a small Leopard?
Cheers

Re: Specimen List **Updated 19th January 10**
The moon wrasse is a rare find indeed, I don't think I've encountered one before. It's been documented before in our waters and it's definitely not something we can see everyday. :yay: Did you bring a tank to photograph the fish in? It's very well taken. Thanks! Based on the link you referenc...

Re: Specimen List **Updated 19th January 10**
Hey everyone, I know it’s been a while since anyone posted here.. but I thought I’d share a little something from a few days ago since I couldn’t find many if not any records of this species in our waters anywhere so far. Landed a juvenile Moon Wrasse(Thalassoma lunare) in the Singapore straits. 799...

Re: Fish Identification
Anyone here know what damsel species this might be? First time encountering it, and it doesn’t seem to be one of the more common scissortail, bengal or sergeant major.

Re: Pretty yellow Goby ID
Finally managed to ID the goby. Turns out its a species of watchman goby ambiguously referred to as the 'lagoon shrimpgoby' (Cryptocentrus cyanotaenia)

Re: BJT March/April CR- interesting catches
Thanks Peace! You're absolutely right, I frequent BJT cause I don't go offshore all that often and my interest is in landing different species. The thrill is definitely in the unknown for me, and BJT, while admittedly overfished- is perhaps one of the most convenient places to find a variety of spec...

Re: Pretty yellow Goby ID
I think this is similar to your yellow goby, but the hue on this one is much darker. https://i.ibb.co/Yd7Z1RN/IMG-20181110-122745.jpg This one does look very similar, except for one thing: It has blue dots instead of faint blue stripes along its body. Interesting though. perhaps they're watchman go...

Re: Fish Identification
Looks interesting indeed, it's probably different from the usual black damselfish we catch. I will look try to look that up. This is pretty late, but I just caught one at BJT yesterday afternoon as well. Went to do some research on chromis and damselfishes and realized it's in a genus of its own- a...

Re: Pretty yellow Goby ID
I want to say this is a yellow shrimp goby but they have dots instead of those blue stripes. Nice catch but I'm not quite sure of the exact species. Thanks Peace. That's what I thought too.. perhaps an invasive species hahaha. If my memory isn't failing me I think I've seen them being sold at some ...

Pretty yellow Goby ID
Hi everyone, this is the third time I’ve caught this Goby species by accident on sabiki. Thought it was a yellow polka dot shrimpgoby at first but later on doubted it cause these have streaks on their cheeks and slender vertical lines on their body rather than dots. Anyone have any idea what this sp...

Re: Prickly Leatherjacket
Seems like these were more common back in the day. After a long fishing hiatus from Bedok Jetty, I started coming back to see what I could find. Finally encountered one rather large specimen(about 20-25cm) after going through hundreds of the more common and more plain-looking Leatherjackets over the...
