Re: [Freshwater] Zebra Tilapia
I subsequently caught and cook a few more and they were fried and were indeed better than the normal Tilapia. I think it has to do with how I cook it the first time which makes me feel the normal Tilapia is better which is obviously a wrong conclusion. Sorry.

Re: Tinfoil Barb
Caught this last week. A surprised catch. It's quite big around 12.5 inches. Cooked and ate it. The meat is soft and taste ok. Better than Tilapia and seem to resemble Pomfret texture except it is very bony. Many Y shape bones around its upper mid body. I would recommend catch and release considerin...

Yes. Please feel free to use those photos.
I didn't know the Motoro ray is a invasive species. Can they be eaten?

Freshwater Stingray and "Patin"
First time I witnessed a freshwater stingray. This one was caught by two anglers after the afternoon downpour today. I googled and it seem to be a Motoro Stingray. They also caught a catfish which looks like a Patin. Interesting catch within 30 mins. Earthworm was used as bait.

Re: [Freshwater] Zebra Tilapia
Yes they were cooked the same way. I would say the common Tilapia meat is more refine. The Zebra Tilapia seem a bit more chewy and taste whilst seem a bit blend compared to the common Tilapia.

Re: [Freshwater] Zebra Tilapia
Caught this today. Cooked Thai style salt bake. I would say the normal Common Tilapia taste better.

Recent Catch
Has not been fishing for quite some time and went back to my favorite rocky shore on Sunday afternoon. Response was quite good and as usual using small hooks. Below are some of the catches not bad for within two hours. Only took back the Sand Bass and the Bream the rest released. Surprisingly, the B...

Re: Canaling
I went to Kallang River behind blk 63 recently and was surprised to see a huge Toman around 2.5 ft long swimming on the surface for 15 sec. There were also huge catfishes surfacing for breath. Later I walked upstream towards Bendemeer Road and saw an angler casting artificial lure appearantly aiming...

Southern Rocky Shore
Pretty fun 3 hrs trip this afternoon at Singapore southern rocky shoreline. Caught 3 Blackspot Tuskfishes, 2 Anchor Tuskfishes and 1 Todak. The larger Blackspot Tuskfish was surprisingly powerful with its sudden rush I thought it was more than 1 kg but its actually probably 500g (actual length appro...
