Small barracuda
Yesterday, got a small barracuda. Tide table states 2.3m at 1741hrs. I was there at maybe 5pm. Tide was full and going down. Using a new cheap 7ft telescopic rod and a new lure. Yozuri pencil 100. 16g. This rod is kind of stiff. The lure cast quite well. Walk a dog type of lures is quite popular wit...

Time past in a flash. Remember to move fast fast and shout loud loud. That was one advice a Sergeant gave me on the first day.

Re: Bedok jetty CR
Thanks, the baitfishes are smaller. This fish is around 20cm. It has a hump and no spot. Donno what is attacking the shoal as it was fast, only see signs from the water surface. Maybe it is just this fish, since I caught it right after that.

Bedok jetty CR
I've been lure fishing recently at Pasir ris, but caught nothing. Because my job can knock off at 5pm, and near east side. Yesterday, I went Bedok jetty. The tide was quite high at around 5-6pm. I saw some baitfish shoals, and also saw the occasional fish attacking the shoal from under. Then I think...

Re: Vist to the Market
Yes, queenfish is not commonly stocked for some reasons. I seen salted queenfish in malaysia. Other fishes in the markets are...farmed salmon, treadfin salmon, baramundi, snappers, tilapia, snakehead, marbled goby, kuning fish, ...actually a lot of fishes.

Stone
http://i64.tinypic.com/2w3umgh.jpg Just a very trivial question. If anyone knows about this stone ? I found it at a beach. It is quite light. It could be natural purmice stone which floats in, or it could be man-made, called Aerated concete. I've seen words on these stones sometimes ! but this ston...

Re: Ulu pandan tilapias
Do show more pictures of your fishes. Only two adult fish in the tank or are there more ? Cichlids are relatively easy to hybridise. Sometimes there may be some hybrids of louhan, mayan cichlid. actually, your third picture seems to show an orange Severum. It could be the angle of the fish in the pi...

It is not red tilapia I think is Red devil cichlid. The male look like midas cichlid with stripe. I edited this reply.
Re: barracuda
I saw a fish jumped up behind the lure. One turn of the reel and felt some resistance. Then I strike! and the fish was up in 30 secs. Take photo and put back. Yes, the blade doesn't spin well. This version tends to flutter only. I've made some modifications with swivels added. The hook can entangle ...
