Re: about todaks

My method of landing Todaks is by Fly fishing. I use a 5 wt weight forward floating line attach a 6 lb,9 ft leader with a size 12 Mustad hook. The hook is bare, attach a small piece of prawn meat, cast and present hook to Todaks. Upon casting strip line fast so that the hook with the prawn meat will n...

Re: Peacock on a Bamboo Fly Rod.

Taking into consideration that this Bamboo rod is over 50 yrs old.The Rod was already refurbished when i got it.Now it looks as good as new.It can be kept as a collector's item and passed down to generations. It is always a conversation item when i am fishing with it among other fliers. That is the d...

Peacock on a Bamboo Fly Rod.

http://i.imgur.com/NzrKyLb.jpg Good Morning Gals and Gents, This peacock was landed on a Bamboo Fly Rod. Many Fliers don't like using Bamboo rods because it is heavy and a extremely slow rod.Not to mention Bamboo rods are very expensive. This is a 9ft,3 pc,5/6wt.rod and the line i used is a 6wt.WFF.

Re: 1st Fish On A Fly Rod

1st Fish On A Fly Rod

http://i.imgur.com/3EFHBOL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/U9NxLGm.jpg That was the 1st fish i caught after nearly 2 months of using the Fly Rod.When i received the Combo,it came with a 5 wt rod and 5 wt fly line on the reel(complete with Dacron backing).I felt very uncomfortable casting with a 5 wt fly lin...

Re: Steerable Lure

Sounds like this lure has a steep learning curve, it's probably why it isn't as popular as it should be. What about hit rate, how does it fare against your other top water lures when fishing for peacock bass? This lure is suitable for One who has a lot of time on their hands, not to mention plenty o...

Re: Steerable Lure

Oh yes, I've seen their promotion video a few years back and it looked very impressive. I was skeptical about the ease of use and if we're able to steer them as well as the demonstrator in the video did. I would like to hear from you about how well this things work, is it as good as they advertised...

It's Dirty Job

Good Evening Gals and Gents, As what my title says"Its a dirty job but somebody has to do it".Let me elaborate on the subject.Sometimes when i am fishing in the sea or reservoirs.I meet Anglers who will tell me what kind of fish i have on the hook without even seeing it.When i have a "fish on"and wh...

Re: My 1st Toman on Lure

my experience: this size usually comes in pair. :D I agree with you that this size comes in a pair. The odds of Two Tomans hitting the same lure one after another on the same cast is extremely rare. unless the fry and daddy are following the mama when it got hooked, and when the hook came off the da...
