Re: totally new here

Hello midniteguy. For a start I think it'd be best to pick up the basics. Places I'll encourage u to go try out at will be bedok jetty or any of the jetties listed at HLF mainpage. Because there are structures that give u a 'lift' from the sea, meaning to say learning to fish there at such places is...

Re: Bite indicator

If you're buying bells, do go for those with plastic clip instead of metal ones, as they become rusty and really difficult to grip and press if not well maintained. And yes they are really cheap, you'll find it in most tackle shops.

Re: pb & kbl lures

For PB poppers and flies are the most effective. I can't really advice you on the collies though, as I've yet to hit one for myself haha. But they always say choose collies similar to the water conditions so maybe you can work towards that direction. For KBL, Maria angel kiss are killers. But if you...

Actually almost every tackle shop sells budget reels, some are even sold as a set paired with rod at lesser than 50.

Re: Newbie here

Thanks Peace for your replies, but I read in other places that the person is using a mono line but he's also using a shock leader too. Maybe the fish he is targeting is very big? Eg: 20lb main line and 50lb shock leader. For me, my explanation would be that 'you never know what you're getting'. 20l...

I think the best would be taking the train to bugis and den walk. Lavender also can. Lots if shops there you may find something you need walking along that stretch.

Re: Catfishing at west coast

Most ppl will cook it the Adam pedas way or frying with chilly because it has some very.... fishy taste -.- like when u are eating mutton that kind of taste, just that it's from a fish. So chilly's probably the best way to cover that. I have friends who will fillet those big ones and deep fry them. ...

And for the rod it'll be good if a starter can reach 12 ft. Correct me if in wrong pls, thank you. As for shiman...
