Re: Recent catches
That's a good haul there! Here's a tip when eging, try to downsize your squid jig even more to get more hits when there isn't much activity, i've went all the way down to size 1.5 and it works wonders ;) By the way, i'll be heading down for an overnight trip on labour day to test out my toy that i ...

Here's some recent catches from the past weekends :) Two trips at my usual spot, armed with 200 grams of live prawns! First trip started out a chermin and bigeye trevally landed on live prawns. http://i.imgur.com/DPkUwVA.jpg Managed to jig a small squid and casted it out but the hook came back empty...

Re: First time with squids
That's an impressive eging catch on a first try, that will be something added to the routine list while you're fishing there. ;) I would used the smallest one as bait on the spot, it might land you a Kurau on your surf! I did hook up the smallest one as bait on LSBF but it came back intact an hour ...

First time with squids
Went to my same spot but it was unproductive from morning till afternoon... caught a few tambans but no takes with them. Decided to change my tamban rig and tie on a squid jig I bought ages ago, but didn't use before. I didn't really know what I was doing, tried to remember what one of the Malay unc...

Re: 2017 NEW YEAR CR
Just gonna update this post with another CR! Last one before I enlist :( Headed to the same spot once again, for an overnight trip. I had around 10 live sand whiting I brought from west coast as bait but caught nothing with them  At 6 am in the morning I managed to get 1 selar on a tamban ...

2017 NEW YEAR CR
Reached our spot at around 8 am, trip started out super slow with no tambans and kunings at all, only a few small selars that ended up as bait @.@ No action on surf whether live prawns or selar was used, and the weather was super bad. Started out super hot and started raining heavily in the afternoo...

Re: First chermin!
Congrats on landing your first chermin, what bait did you catch it with? Chermins are pretty good fight, but always visually spot how secure the hook is on the mouth when it surfaces. They can tear off rather easily and you must be cautious when landing them especially from higher ground. Caught on...

Went to south spot with murasame last week! Initially started out slow, there were very few tambans and kuning!! But the selars were quite big! In the middle of the day, bell on my larger rod went off. I was quite a distance away had to run for it :sweatdrop: Fight was quite strong, and after awhile...
