Re: Ajing/UL/LRF

@murasame Your rod will be fine as long you don't high stick the rod Let the rod do it's job of fighting the fish and refrain from aggressively pumping the fish up. As for the japanese style aji worms, you definitely can use it however i'm unsure of what species you can catch apart from the horse ma...

Re: Ajing/UL/LRF

That's a really light rod! hahas. Your overall setup will be fine, just ease off the drag a wee bit and hang on to your rod when the fish runs! :p Once you feel more confident in controlling the fish, you can downsize your line to something even lighter

Re: Tamban's fishing adventures from down under

I've been wanting to test this searide blueblue 6g jig for some time but couldn't do so as the tommy ruffs aren't really around at the local jetties, so i headed out to westlakes to give my searide blueblue 6g jig some workout. The primary suspects that were smashing this jig were the salmon trout t...

Re: Offshore jigging at night?

I have heard of few people using those glow in the dark jigs at night with great success, however i have never personally tried it before. You tend to get bigger fishes at night too! So you gotta prepare a set of heavier gears :P

Re: Tamban's fishing adventures from down under

I'll take your word for it! can i choose what :champagne: i want? :p I was actually pretty surprised that that last squid went for the jig again as normally once a squid gets hooked and expels their ink in act of self defence, they don't go for the jig again! maybe the size played a part.

Re: Ajing/UL/LRF

I'm not too sure about the difference between an aji or mebaru rod, but i do know that both rods come in either tubular or solid tip. Tubular is supposed to boast a higher sensitivity, and the solid tip has a better hookup rate. Sorry i can't help you much! :( Edit. i found this link and i hope it h...

Re: Tamban's fishing adventures from down under

I'm back again with a CR! Mwahahaha This time i went on a solo trip to the Patawalonga lake aka stinky lake as there's a sewage treatment plant upstream. Didn't get much hits but i managed to landed a couple of undersized bream, the legal length in South Australia is 28cm. To date i have not landed ...

Re: Ajing/UL/LRF

i'm not sure what rods they have in SG as i am pretty out of touch about the tackle scene! The rapala rfs elegance looks pretty darn good for it's specs, you can also take a look at the majorcraft solpara aji rods if you don't want to break the bank, and majorcraft skyroad if you would like to spend...

Re: Ajing/UL/LRF

i wouldn't use the storm micro jigger for ajing/LRF as you would want an even lighter rod. i would recommend a 6'6-7ft rod, 2-6lb, lure weight 0.5-6g. In my opinion the microjigger is a tad heavy, does not cast light jigheads/lures well, and it's more suited for micro jigging off boats

icic, in that case go for the c2000s! you should be able to spool in 150yards of 6lb braid in there :D

Re: Which reel? (1000 size range)

in that case spool it up with 6lb braid! you want that extra bit of casting distance. You also might want to learn how to tie an albright, slim beauty, fg knot! This helps reduce the number of swivels and helps with overall presentation of your lure. Ps. The fg knot can be really annoying to tie but...

Re: Which reel? (1000 size range)

i would go for sahara 750! you want a shallower spool to give you that wee bit of casting distance, and if you just started out fishing i would high recommend that you get the 6lb line.
