Re: Tuas Inshore fishing?

If you zoom into google street map, you can actually see a sign along the coast that says "state land, no trespassing" even though there's no barrier or fencing along the beach. That aside, I would discourage you from consuming the fish caught there. The water in the basin don't have much circulati...

Re: Ike Jime

There's a very good write-up by one of our local: https://gaspinggurami.wordpress.com/2015/06/15/eats-ike-jime-and-eating-quality/ Angler's Secret web, being a Jap writer definitely talks about this: http://www.anglers-secrets.com/how-to-keep-fish-fresh/ At the bottom of the page, there are links to...

Re: Ike Jime

Thanks for the reply Peace. I was fortunate to be onboard a southern island trip with a guy who's good at this. He did it to all the fishes we caught, big or small, and that's a lot of effort. I have to admit, the result of it was the taste of the fish was awesome! It could be due to both offshore f...

Ike Jime

Have been reading on Ike Jime, and even saw a experience guy doing it on an offshore trip. Few questions to ask here: - If you know what i'm talking about, and has been performing it, where do you buy your ike jime gears? especially the long wire on the spinal cord. - If you put the fish down almost...

Kim takes lures pretty well as compare to other fishes.

Guess is the movement that entice them to strike?

Re: what fishes eat dead bait?

ok thanks! :) (P.s: my uncle went fishing at labrador park today, used dead prawn and float, caught a 1 metre long Todak or needlefish. another malay uncle caught 2 "larger than dinner plate sized" stingrays and another angler caught a 1kg plus grouper...) :fish2: Wah! Really? Lab Park seems very d...

Re: Fishing at Jalan besut

I've read in another forum that there produce very decent catch. Then again I'm not sure how many times/hours he camped there before he get to post those CR.

Someone mentioned Jalan Buroh as well. Anyone care to share some of the exact spots around this area?

Was on a local trip at southern on 7th Jan. Fortunately, no sign of spillage there. Catch was decent as commented by the experienced anglers on board.

Re: labrador-park-jetty-reopened

I kinda figured where you're referring. While walking to the end of jetty will come across a shelter. Was playing there for 15 min or so until my friend point to me a no fishing sign 3 meters away from me... There's now a red line demarcated on the floor near to the end of jetty. To clearly indicate...

Re: labrador-park-jetty-reopened

Went Lab Park on 2nd J?an 2017 morning. It was flooded with people! Mainly surf cast on both sides, mainly on right side of the jetty. Played about 3-4 hours of ajing, zero fighter. It's not at high tide but rising tide. Heard from my friend that when the jetty is closed, the could catch many specie...

Re: New to offshore - Kiting experience

Thanks Peace! I'm glad i asked, learnt a couple of new things. Ever consider writing a "guide" on different topics and put up sticky in the forum? (i'm actually serious. It will help new anglers to pick up faster, make lesser mistakes, waste lesser time and $) I'll be back with more questions!

Re: New to offshore - Kiting experience

Thanks for the reply. Questions: 1. When you mentioned cast against the wind and hopefully it will touch the bottom for few seconds, you're referring to continue use the heavy slowfall jig? Can a jigging rod do casting on a heavy jig? If it is possible, is there a safety factor/ratio? eg, 30g-100g j...

New to offshore - Kiting experience

Hi, I'm very new to offshore. Been reading and preparing my tackles for local offshore trip. Just few weeks ago i managed to find time to join a local offshore trip at southern. Being a newbie, I prepared 2 setup: micro jigging with jigs up to 30g and spinning 1000 reel(pe 0.4), and a light jigging ...
