as for the hook size i believe size 2-1/0 is fine, as for the prawn cubes there will be lots of baitstealers so be sure to rebait your hooks.
your rod setup seems alright to me! make sure to secure your rods properly, later when a fish take your bait your rod wont fly into the waters!

well there are fishes all around the jetty, i have seen chermins landed at the middle of the jetty, so it really doesnt matter where you cast your line out. Its more of a preference in my opinion. cheers!

which one are you refering to? the oval, rectangle or the square shaped?

i am not sure about catching prawns using a cage/trap. However i do know that there is a season to cast net for prawns, never tried before so i cant really help you out with this!

it depends on high the tide is, normally when i go crabbing i will choose the day with the biggest change in tide. eg 0750 0.5.. 1345 2.8.. take a look at 11th september 2013 tide from the NEA tide page, 0826 1.0... 1420 2.8... you can go abt 8.30 and slowly setup your gears, prepare the baits, tie ...
