Re: First ever female mud crab

I know right? Catching it was enough to make my day. Its usually males I see, I became quite worried about their reproduction, but my mind is at ease now :D
I considered it before but never got around doing it, I heard the meat is amazing, can you vouch for it? Hahaha

Re: Catfish for dinner

I didn't keep track of how long they have been in there but two years is a conservative estimate. I only used one eeltail catfish that day, chopped into 3 pieces. I have a few others in there like orange spotted rabbitfish, golden travelly, I think I have something called gurama? and.. a brown soon-...

Re: Comeback Crab

Yay! Thank you! Yes, it was out in the open, I saw it in the middle of the road after I came out of the bushes. After I picked it up a taxi drove by :sweatdrop: The last photo is when I returned it into the water but it came back out a while later, and walked all the way back to where I was, then in...

Catfish for dinner

Came home with the feels for a home cooked dinner but the fridge was empty except an old bag. In it were a few fishes that spent the past 2-3 Christmases with me so I couldn't bear to eat them. I brought one on a field trip, and fastened its seatbelt for a wet crash landing. Anyway, you get the idea...

Re: Comeback Crab

It bit my hand and it isn't as bad as people made it sound but yeah I will consider bringing a reshaped hook next time. Yay! A Crucifix Crab! Right? Also off topic: I realize we don't have a mud lobster in the archives, I have a picture of a one from ubin. Hope it's useful http://i781.photobucket.co...

Re: Comeback Crab

Thanks! Yes the size made up for the meat :P I didn't get to press the second time, it escaped into a small hole which led to the sea but I put my hand in to pull it out, then it pinched my hand :/ I just transferred it into the cooler box after that. The PRC beside me foul hooked a female and I kin...

Comeback Crab

Caught this some time back but I released it because it felt empty http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy98/rebirth1893/IMAG0546_zpsa1c37099.jpg One month later I caught it again(Can't pose with because I was alone) I recognise it from the dent on its head. http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy98/reb...

Re: Crabbing spot tips needed

Hi Peace, thank you for welcoming me to the forum. Your answer is really informative and I really appreciate your effort  but I don't think I'll go to the west side for the time being though, its a little too far. My usual spots are at Sungei Changi, Sungei Api Api, Punggol End and if I fe...

Crabbing spot tips needed

Hi All, I have been crabbing in public places for about 7 years now, but lately my nets have been empty and I'm thinking about finding myself a secret spot. I'm thinking of bashing into mangroves but I don't know what to look out for in a good spot. Red Mangroves, Fallen trees, concrete structures, ...
