Re: Beginner's Fishing Journey
Np! If youre going to target those fish, maybe you can go with a size C3000-4000 reel instead since they give you more drag power to handle the larger species If youre still unsure on your ability to handle the fish, then maybe a 4000 size will be the way to go (my first reel was an Aernos 4000 with...

Re: Beginner's Fishing Journey
I dont know much about shimano's rods, but lately a few people have been reselling shimano fireblood rods after buying them from the open house this year, I think you can get one for yourself for about $80 if you check the FK classifieds or carousell. Those rods may range from light to medium action...

Re: Crabs as bait
They may smash the shell because its too hard to puncture
Maybe instead of hooking thru the carapace you can hook through the area in between the carapace and the shell

Re: Crabs as bait
I havent tried before (dk where to get crabs) but probably can get fish like parrotfish, tuskfish grouper and grunters? If the crabs will be chopped up and rigged on an apollo rig (any hook size but not too small) theres chances of any fish taking but I heard parrotfish and tuskfish love crabs Maybe...

Re: Yellowtails
Oh I see In that case, what type of rigs should I get if I want to target these yellowtails and sagai? Do the shrimps degrade if you freeze them? I dont know any fishing spots nearby the jurong market area...so if I were to buy shrimps from there I think would not be convenient to go to places like ...

Re: Ulu Pandan Canal CR
Headed down for another impromptu session at the canal again before tuition (super rushed so sorry for not calling you gohyuheng  ) It had just rained heavily and I suspect all the fishes got washed down with the heavy current... My previous spot was all eroded, the weeds which sheltered t...

Re: Indian Anchovy
Any tips on rigging them as bait? Theyre so rare I feel bad throwing one in as bait and having it torn off so easily Once I was drifting one on a small hook (too scared to cast) and the entire back portion got chomped off... Think it was a pelagic like todak, it was quite a clean bite, not bits and ...

Re: What fish to fish at Bedok Jetty?
Before going on a shore trip, I usually check this website http://www.tides4fishing.com/as/singapore/singapur It rates the fishing on particular days based on the tides and this "solunar theory" on moonrise sunset etcetc from "poor" "good" "very good" or "excellent" I find it useful at places like b...

Re: [Freshwater] Zebra Tilapia
Plenty at Pandan Reservoir on the West Coast side (Fishing and Viewing Deck) Used to be a lot of medium sized ones on the left side of the shelter facing the boat deck but they seem to be gone now, maybe all taken by the factory workers nearby. Small-medium sized ones can take tiny artificial lures ...
