I always like catch and release, although it might sounds cruel to some who doesnt likes CNR, i would always believe releasing smaller ones will give u bigger catch one day Hope it lives and grow to a monster !

for organizing, comfort fishing on boat beats everything, at least for me. Big fish is a plus.

You could try changing to Carbontex drag washers. Beach Road, Saber has them and they could change for you if their technician is around.

Since u have a handline and 6 ft rod, I would suggest handline play along the pillars with live prawn or prawn meat while 6ft rod jig for tambans, when live tamban is available u could try floater with live tamban on handline.
