Re: Woodlands WaterFront
For the rig I usually use size 6/0-8/0 hooks tie with wire line to a swivel on the main line and a float between, then i put my rod slightly out tied to the railing of jetty and let the fish swim. keep the line short enough so that the fish dont get stuck on the jetty pillar. Otherwise you can also ...

Re: Woodlands WaterFront

Firstly there is tamban usually in the early morning, you can catch them using tamban jigs that look feathery. Then there are also the Assam fish which is there all day round, they are easier to ...

Re: luring in reservoirs
you can try kranji reservoir. I got quite a lot of peacock bass there before using greenish gold shiny 1, also got toman before. Best to use topwater lure as there are a lot of irritating seaweed there.

Re: Drum Reel Help
For lubrication just do it once every few weeks, lubricate area like the handle join, the line guide area if there is, joint between handle and reel.
After each trip just set the drag to max and rinse under water can le, don't submerge it under water.

Re: no tilapia
tilapia are irritating fish. They are quite wary of their food from what i see, i cast an earthworm out and theres no bite for more than an hour, then when i reel in i saw one creep up my earthworm and bite the dangling part and run, didnt mange to hook it. I tired using squid once then i realizes t...

Re: Help did i kena chop by shop for buying a rod at $100?
Baitcasting reel generally refer to the type of reel that sits on top of the rod, it can be used for luring also, not necessary baiting. so you dont need to worry about it. But i think you got the spinning version as i just noticed that theres 2 type of handles from the picture. Sorry for the confus...

Yo,
That seem like quite a good rod, definitely worth the money, I got a seahawk shin rod which is very good, easy to cast.
The question would be the reel, cause it seem to be design for baitcasting reel, but really wonder if you can get 1 for $6
