Why the fish won't come
May i know why fishes just don't seem to take my bait???Is it about the bait's freshness or when we buy from markets,do they put any kind of medicine or what on the prawns/squids and make the fish won't take the bait.

Torium is typically used for bottom fishing but you can certainly use it for casting as well. It lacks cast control so you have to thumb it timingly or you'll get spool overruns resulting in a bird's nest. It's a quality reel for starter no less but if you're just started casting with overhead reel...

For onshore, you can try the spot beside SAFYC for queenfish or the causeway at St John's island. Shore spots are mostly restricted to horizontal jigging due to the depth.
