(sorrry i forgot to take pics)I was fishing at the waters of Jurong (sea water) on my previous fishing trip.
there were many people throwing nets around, some of them caught huge fishes. Me and my dad quickly set up our stuff and started fishing. After about 30 minutes of no bites,My hook got trapped in one of the nets.So me and my dad waddled into the water to un-hook it.Then,I looked to my right while my Dad was unhooking. To my surprise,i saw thie fish about 5 inches in size.I jumped at it and surprisingly, i caught it with my bare hands. It was a peacock bass and it was quite tasty  That was sure a memorable experience. :)

It could possibly be the downstream river from Jurong Lake. Peacock Bass are freshwater fishes but it's not surprising to find them in saltwater if excess water is periodically released from Jurong Lake. But how well they can adapt to the salinity in that water would be interesting, or if it's even possible.

yep. I was wondering, cause my dad caught a tilapia there, which is clearly a fresh water fish. but then again, the tamans.

Tilapias have quite high tolerance to saltwater, they can stay in brackish water over long period of time. If the salinity gets to high, they simply move upstream for freshwater.

Do you know of any good spots to fish with tamans as bait?

The first thing that came to my mind would be Bedok Jetty. Believe it or not, there are lots of predatory fish that come close to the jetty just to hunt for those tambans. Lots of biggies there are landed with tambans, there are quite a few blogs/websites featuring catches from BJT. :)
