Chia Soon Kelong Trip
Venue : CHIA SOON KELONG
Date : 16th & 17th March 2011, Wednesday & Thursday
Departure Time : 16th March, 9:30 am
Meeting Point : Changi Point Ferry Terminal
Arrival Time : 17th March, 11am or earlier
Cost : $65 per pax

ADDITIONAL DETAILS :
* Please remember to bring PASSPORT.
* Please pack own lunch.
~ Lunch will not be provided. Cost covers departure day's dinner, supper and breakfast for the next day.
* We will be meeting up at Changi Village Food Center for breakfast .... TIME : 8:30am
~ Will decide on the spot how many anglers want to use live prawns and make purchase at Changi pro after breakfast.
~ Cost sharing for live prawns.
~ Live prawns are selling at $33/Kg from Changi pro.
~ Kelong do provide baits if you do not want to use live prawns. Or you can always jig for bait fish.

Wow seem like a very nice place
Are newbi allow to join? Not much experience in fishing -_-
If yes me and 1 of my friend would be interested to go !!!! ( 2 people total)
Just asking out of courtesy because of our noobness it may affect the overall fishing experience for u guy.....
Do contact me if u need 2 people to fill up the slot for the kelong trip

Hi Jack, you are most welcome to join us. We ain't experts too ...
Not to worry if you are new to fishing ...
The boys should be able to help you with the rigs etc.
In fact it's a good chance to learn some knots from the guys while fishing.
I will contact you shortly once we hit the right headcounts to go ~

Updates ...
Called the Kelong uncleS today ...
We will need another 4 pax to join us ... else this trip will have to call off.
1 boat take 12 pax ... so no 12 no go.
Unless the 8 willing to absorb the fee for the 4 pax which I think is ridiculous.
Since it's the school holiday season's ... we will put on hold this trip for another week ...
Once we hit 12 will GO !

Interesting infos for the coming Chia Soon Kelong Trip
Fishing day : 16th March 2011 ; ( lunar 12th )
Tides patterns according to local forecast NEA :
0156 hrs 1.7 L
0745 hrs 2.4 H
1441 hrs 0.6 L
2154 hrs 2.4 H
Species targeted : snappers, groupers ...
* of course there are other species lurking in the waters ... todak, bara, stingray, gelama, catfish, kim kor, selars, peh tor etc etc ...
* Rigs : actually it's a personal preference just like each and everyone has a different taste bud.
It all depends on your fishing tackle and how you want to play the game ...
For the total newbies ... Apollo rigs are just as good.
Bring an extra set if you want to play some small fish like selar or gelama.
Hand-lining is also fun while waiting for the biggie to bite.
That's all folks ... can't figure out whats more to share here ...

Updates ...
Kelong uncle called me today to final confirm prior to departure date ...
Boarding time 10am at Changi Point Ferry Terminal.
Kakis ... let's meet up for breakfast at 8:30am at Changi Food Center.
Kelong Uncle keep reminding me .... they do not provide lunch ... so ... pls pack lunch !
