There is supposedly plan to extend the coast where Bedok Jetty is in a few years from now, I can't gurantee whether this information is reliable though.

That will be the case should the plan be implemented. But I would classify this as a 'rumor', so take it with a pinch of salt. ;)

How u kill the government? :eyebrow:
By baiting or luring? :p

Even at that night I went cycling to BJT, it was so full of anglers. Where will they go when BJT closed? Labrador jetty also closed. Punggol jetty under construction.
Next we'll se anglers dropping their line in front of Merlion

Grawpy ... you are one funny guy :p

Dropping lines in front of Merlion ... dreams of many.
You have to be very rich to dare do that ...
LBP warrens a 5000 fine if caught fishing at the main aisle
Imagine the Merlion !

Well ... there could be a possibilities that they shut down BJT.
A large stretch of ECP will be going thru some major changes very soon.
But I believe they will have another BJT, a better one for us to enjoy the sunset.
And fishing of course ...
It's too popular a place which I doubt it will be closed down for good.

hehehehe...merlion=P
Sounds like another illegal fishing ground eh?
Ive seen people catch record breaking fishes at some docks like the ones on jurong island!
What do i have to say abt tht?
The more illegal the place, the more fish u will get.

I will explain it as giving the fish a chance to grow ! :D

Illegal = cannot fish = fishes can breed and grow.

Might not be all bad ...if you look at the bright side of things =)

Do the fish have territories? I mean do fish from say Labrador park go visit Bedok jetty and so on?
There are so many restricted areas all around Singapore coast all of them may be having large size & quantity of fish, so why don't we get many fish in legal areas like Bedok Jetty? 0.o

Same question applying for lakes/reservoirs too. Do the fish near illegal fishing grounds go near legal fishing grounds in a same reservoir?

I guess it depends on what type of fishes we're talking about. But basically yes, fishes move from places to places for variously reasons. On a large scale, fishes do come in from neighbouring waters to spawn or get pushed in from monsoon currents, hence, anglers might notice some 'seasonal' fishes.

Locally, fishes won't move very far unless food source is scarce or water is of unfavourable conditions. Pelagic fishes and many trevallies however, tend to move quite a lot because they follow baitfishes like herrings and scads which move along with the current.

Fishes don't know what is legal or illegal spots so they will move from place to place to look for food, new territory or to find mate, etc. So yes, they will still go to overfished areas but because there are people fishing at the spot most of the time, your chances of landing one that comes along is lower because someone might already have caught it.
