The "Hong Kong" rig.

Post by limfish »

The Hong Kong rig is a simple, yet deadly and nice rig.
Its is a hook fused to a sinker and yes,it is that simple.
Normaly used by handliners, its slimplicity gets fishes almost always lip hooked which means the ease of dehooking the fish which saves you time and saves the fish from dieing.
A similar hook is the ones used in rubber worms or lures,it works in the same way although is can be use with a rod or a handline more easily.
So if you are trying to catch fishes which you intend to release use this rig.

Hongkong hook is term used locally, other places they're known as jigheads. It's great to use with organic or artificial baits. :)
