Hi, I often fish down there and i can tell you the type of fish you can get there are very very limited.

Firstly there is tamban usually in the early morning, you can catch them using tamban jigs that look feathery.
Then there are also the Assam fish which is there all day round, they are easier to spot when the water is clear like after the rain or when the water is still. You can catch them by foul hooking them.
Other type of fish I seem there are barracuda and sharks which usually come to feed on the schools of assam fish so if you want to catch them you catch some assam fish and use them as live bait, best with steel wire leader or else they will cut off your line.

These are the few fish I aim whenever i go there. You can try to catch some crab there also, I usually use dead assam fish as bait to catch them.
Goodluck trying to catch fish there.

Hi FAB, welcome to HLF. MrTurtle7 said it all, it really looks like a nice place to fish and the jetty is big and comfy. Sadly, it's not quite comparable to BJT. I've not really tried fishing in this place before but from the looks of it, you can probably get catfish, croakers and rays too.

For the rig I usually use size 6/0-8/0 hooks tie with wire line to a swivel on the main line and a float between, then i put my rod slightly out tied to the railing of jetty and let the fish swim. keep the line short enough so that the fish dont get stuck on the jetty pillar.

Otherwise you can also get a rather big float and cast the fish out.

Usually the jetty will be filled with people using the same method, you can ask them, most of them would be more than happy to help you.

What about a cable car rig, does it work just as well there?

I only try cable car rig once and I problem with the fish keep staying on the surface as there is hardly any current there and the assam seem to like to stay on the surface and they will try to follow schools of assam that swim by so i give up on cable car rig after a while.

The lack of current is beacause the place is blocked by the causeways.
It is a blessing, however, for the catfishes, puffers and mabye groupers as
they thrive in slow moving currents.
Catch an assam, cut it into peices, then use it as bait.
The Ah sengs will be waiting.=P
But please release then in the name of CNR.
The puffers may also take your bait(best played on light tackle)
The area is a bit brackish so i imagine archerfish?
Use fly or spin fly to tacklethem, the are great fighters.
Look out for the mangrove snapper too!
Sharks?Maybe they arrive for breeding?(sharks are born in mangrove areas)
Same for stingrays.
In all, a place where using the right bait, right time and some luck, will change a fish in your arms, or none at all.
Good luck
