Fishing has been banned at bukit batok nature park. Netting still allowed but have to release.

That sounds kind of weird, was there an official notice there? Netting is also a kind of fishing. :S

but who would want to go there and net then release fishes?

I don't know, but when I went there two nparks people were there and they did not allow us to fish, but they allowed us to net fish then release the fish we netted

Must be new national park officers.Like Peace says,netting is part of fishing.In fact the use of nets is worst as the trap fish get killed by drowning more easily

No, not that type of netting. The type where you use a long pole attached to a net to catch fish.
