Its the sagai season at bedok again!!
From 500gram fish to 5-6 kg ones splashing making the tambans go absolutely wild at bedok jetty WOOOSH haha like that HUGE splashes everywhere
But oh well there simply no way to catch them
One of the regulars there rigged up a shooting rig and managed to hook up a 3kg one
The fish was so strong that they needed 3 men to fight the fish  :S
Well the smaller ones seem possible to catch but they won't touch my sure catch micro jig haizzzzz
Is there any lure or rig to target them specifically?
If only I could land one of those monsters
Well one can dream right?

5-6kg is overly huge for sagais unless we're talking about giant trevally, it's probably both sagai and queen in the mix. Do you have a picture of the fish the regular hooked up? Jigs usually work on them but it could possibly be that the extensive water trashing that they miss your small jig. The tambans in school are easier for them to lock on.

Hehe well I guess 5-6kg is abit too big hahahaha
But we'll the splashes were really large
From the mid point of the jetty you could see the splashes at the t junction
The one they foul hooked was about 3-4kg
I don't have a picture
One of the regular aunties told me about it because the fish was given to her

Only large sagais

In any case, it's a good sign to start fishing actively at BJT as there may be more coming in. If you do happen to encounter this, do take a picture for us. Hope you get a big one next time!

Metal jigs or spoons are effective in general. Jigs come in a variety of shapes and actions. Some are designed for fast drop to the bottom while others flutter slowly.

That would work, the key is to mimick a bait fish in distress so that also depends how you work your jig.
