Excellent shot of the butterfly, you should check back the cocoon to see if it's the same species of butterfly. The cocoon itself is actually quite pretty on its own.
An interesting bug here to share; I found this bug hitching a free ride with me home. It's very small but it looks like it has a paint brush as a tail. It sort of use it's tail to hop and at a good distance too, cute ain't it?

Took me much courage and trying to get dat two precious shots of the cocoon. Several previous attempt failed. The look of cocoon always send a shiver down my spine
A light passing breeze will see me stepping backward from the subject instantly.
I do not like the idea of the cocoon dropping down onto me haha

Thats a very cute bug Yes ...the tail do look like a tiny paint brush.
You took it home ...??? hope you enjoying its company ... did u find yourself scratching your head for no reasons ?
Very nice shot, the fly caught my attention too! Must have quick hands because bees don't often stay at one flower too long to collect nectar. Here are some bug shots I took from today.
A bug resting on a rock
A small damselfly
A pondskater on a rock (What in the world is it doing on a rock?? )
Guess you are right dom dom ...its a carpenter bee.
Peace ... I didn't know I had an extra object (the fly) till the pic was down loaded. lol
And yes ... they do not stay long on a single flower
I had a hard time trying for a nice shot as they were flower hopping
Luckyily .... I was rewarded with a real nice one.
