More pics from the same area
Hehe, yes Angelfishing. I spend quite a bit of time exploring while you're gone. Here's more insects that I found in that area.
Some sort of a long legged bug on a tree bark
A pretty beetle with yellow spots
A butterfly on the forest floor
A cicada on a tree
The same species of dragonfly I saw previously
A skink with an orange stripe
A view of the forest

Re: More pictures over the weekend
Here's some more little critters from the same place
Damselfly with blue coloured wings
You can lit up its wings with flash!
A frog I saw by a pool of water, should be a coppercheek.
No idea what this is, looks sort of like cricket but not quite
An orbspider
A big red mosquito!
A Four-ridged Toad I found croaking in a dried curled up leaf with a puddle of water in it.
A small insect resting on a tree bark

Re: Forest Trekking
More pictures, on a log!
A butterfly on a floating log
Fungi growing on the log
A common greenback, with a brown back.
Clip of it hopping away, I had to keep pulling the log towards me to get it closer
A jumping spider ready to pounce on my camera1
A bunch of tiny shrooms growing on a small mouldy hill

Re: Forest Trekking
Nice interesting pics.
I like the yellow butterfly shot.
Would be great if the subject push back a little exposing more of the log in the foreground.
Would have given a better effect.
Love the shrooms shot
Why didn't u fall into water trying to pull the log n beedeo the same time ?

Re: Forest Trekking
Thanks Angelfishing, I will try to capture more of the foreground if I get the chance again. The butterfly caught my eye because of the lighting; the backlight is somewhat strong that pierces into the butterfly's wings. I'm not quite sure how to make the best of it then so I just snap and snap. They butterfly stood there obediently for me to shoot and I could get as close and 5cm away from it.
The frog too was quite cooperative at first, it waited for me to finish up with the butterfly and laid on the log motionless all this while. Too bad I can only get close to it by going into the water, the leaf litter in the water is about half knee deep. The things we do just to get a closer look...

Re: Forest Trekking
Haha, quite true. But just wait till you get really addicted to nature photography and see how much you're willing to do to get close to the subjects.Angelfishing wrote:no...no.....its the things YOU do just to get a closer look ...
Here's are some pictures on a short trip from yesterday - same old place, but lots to see.
A hairly caterpillar I came across on the forest floor
A damselfly resting on a leaf with it's wings unfolded
A small little froggie I found in a damp gully
A black colour beetle on a rotting log
A jumping spider playing hide and seek with me, evading my camera by moving between sides of a leave.
A view of the the dense vegetation outside the forest canopy
