This series has a lot of improvements over previous ones, at least on the technical merit. Very nice and keep it up!

Have to thank all you guys ( u knw who you are) ;)

Tripod does do wonders n guess its never too late to start learning to use one :sweatdrop:

I was testing it out when shooting this series of pictures.
Interestingly ...the above few pics except for the bait stealer's pic were all taken w/o the tripod.

I got impatient with all the adjusting n end up quick released the camera.
Off I go snapping away happily with just my hands :p

Many of us don't like using tripods as you do, but there are times when you can't get a good shot without it, especially when your camera is starving for light. Just remember to watch out for the shutter speeds that you can use for each shot and you'll know whether a tripod is really needed. And for instance, if I know that a subject wouldn't stay put long enough for me to set up a tripod, I will use flash instead.

Here's a general representation of how a picture can get blur:
Camera/hand movement + Subject movement  Total picture blurness

A tripod/IS only helps remove blurness for the first part of the equation. The second part can only be reduced by using higher shutter speed. Gaining higher shutter speeds can be done by using widest aperture, flash, increasing iso or underexposing a picture.

An exception would be synchronizing the motion of both Camera/hand movement and Subject movement, ie Panning. However, that is pretty hard to do.

Haha, don't you just hate it when a bug hides under the leaf when you aim your camera and it and when you aim from under it crawls back upside of the leaf. That's a pretty good shot of the bug. Hmm, the webbing looks interesting. It doesn't look quite like a normal stabilimenta which spiders build to prevent big things like birds from flying through. If it was its prey, the wrapping is very much overdone as well. No idea what is that. :p

I guess that's the fun of nature photography ... they are living things !
Cannot expect them to be in a stay still position ya.
That bug was so scare on seeing a giant lens getting near ... it pees !

It probably took a lot of hard work to build up that nest
Didn't wanna find out who's living in there as it sure to be destroyed.
Hopefully someday when I pop by again might just catch it coming out :D

Went to Bishan Park for a walk ... it's being quite some time since I last went there.

The lotus pond is neat n tidy with all the dried leaves cleared away.
Saw some nice parrot fish playing water.

As I walk along the pavement ... saw a really huge toman surface just below the bridge !
It was camera shy though :yay:
It's really nice to know there are still sizable fish around.
I quietly walk away ... didn't want to alert those many uncles who were fishing nearby!

Here are some shots taken while I "tao jiak zuah" in the park. :p

Wah so much to see at Bishan Park. I remember the last time I was there was when the commercial pond was still operating, that must quite a long while. That's a big frog you shot, they look kind of like those frogs they sell at wet market huh. It would make a nice meal for that toman you saw.

ps: Where's the snake? :p
