Ah Mah Bak Kut Teh
Kopi-O
Block 109 Bukit Purmei

We found ourself at this Kopi-O coffee shop located at Block 109 Bukit Purmei.
Was there for the famous lor mee ... ::x:

Such coincident ... we were there on a Monday which is their rest day.

Since we were there already ... decided to give this Ah Mah Bak Kut Teh a try.
The name itself gives me a certain level of confident it will taste good.
However ... we were sad to discover later ... we were wrong about it sounding nice ! 0.o

The bak kut teh ... main dish tasted like a pot of soup with many pork bones thrown in to cook with.
There is no taste of any herbal spice at all !
Tasted so bland I almost thought I was drinking some kinda pork soup ... alright it is pork rib soup. ::x:
The kidney soup was in such large serving ... the kindey look like they were having a swim in a pool.
Soup is the most "precious" ingredients yet they dish out in such large amount.
Now .. that will explain why they can afford to dish out such large bowl of soup.

The pig's trotter is another disaster.
The colour don't look tempting and the trotter is loose ... look a bit over cooked.
Taste ... need no further description ... the look tells you the answer.

The only dish which we keep tucking in was the tao kee.

The above meal cost us $17.00 !

I wish the lor mee was open for biz ... can buy me many bowls of the gooey noodles ! :p

I've tried the Lor Mee there a couple of times .. and is still one of my fave stall! You've gotta order additional 0.50cts of the crunchy stuffs

And so perhaps I could order a side bowl of Ah Ma Bak Kut Teh on my next visit there ...

Thanks for the info!
