MILLION STAR GORENG PISANG
Block 2 Changi Village Road # 01-06
Changi Village Hawker's Centre

Changi Village ... tucked away in a quiet district in the Eastern part of Singapore.

The food centre here is famous both for Nasi Lemak as well as the chicken wings, fish & chips and beer at Charlie's Corner.
My favourite Goreng Pisang aka fried banana fritters is also found here at #01-06, Million Star Goreng Pisang.

The uncle uses Pisang Raja. Reputed to be one of the best types of bananas to make goreng pisang with due to it's fragrance and sweetness.
The batter was light and crispy without being excessively oily. This is best eaten hot !

Interestingly ... we were not attracted to this stall because of it's goreng pisang.
We were attracted by the fragrant of the cempedak !
I remembered we were having lunch one day at the centre ...seated few tables away from the stall.
Simon was attracted by the aroma of the cempedak ...
We packed a few off to munch ...
It was so delicious ... even the seed can be eaten !
Yes ... I was as surprised as a child will be.

Seed can eat de meh ?

Sadly ... this is a seasonal food ... only available when the fruit is in season.

It's a like it or hate it thingy.
Some people like the smell of the fruit ... so much stronger compared to a Jack fruit.
Some people just cannot take the smell like how some hated Durian. lol !

For us ... we love it to the core !

The seed of the cempedak at Million Star can be eaten as well.
Super yummy ... every time I passby his stall will look into the display shelf to check out the cempedak.

Opposite this stall few units away is another stall run by 2 ladies ...
Give their goreng red bean a try ... you be surprised how good it is.
Not too sweet ... eat it pipping hot .. power!
I like their banana cake too ... something which we pack for fishing trips

The stall at Long House is also quite up to standard.
But their operating hours kinda irregular ...

Get the best of both worlds ... buy your favourite from each stall.

Both stall has their aces ...

Million Star goreng piasang needs no further introduction.
Besides the seasonal cempedak, I like their tapioca cake too ...
The one in green ... he added coconut into the paste thus making it unusually delicious.

The opposite stall ... I like their banana cake ... yum yum !
O ... and the red bean cake also ... eat it while it's hot ... Shiok !

Other items ... I would say both are equally good so doesn't really matter which stall you buy from.
