Yes ... you did not see wrongly ... this Satay Bee Hoon cum Steamboat stall is closed on Mon, Tues and Wednesday.
They managed to stay in business with just a few business hours a day and operating only 4 out of 7 working days ...
Can you imagine how good their business is .... ?
Fancy eating steamboat in another way ?
Hock Leng has the answer ... they served steamboat the Lok Lok way, very common in Malaysia.
Instead of cooking all the different ingredients in the hotpot,
here ... all the food are skewered !
Ingredients are string together with a satay stick.
One has to dip the food into the hotpot till it's cook ... dip food into their special satay gravy.
The satay gravy is smooth and has a tinge of spiciness ... full of nutty fragrant.
Thinking of it alone makes me drools ...
You can order a plate of their plain satay bee hoon at $1 each to go along with the steamboat.
Served in a small plate with generous amount of bean sprouts and kang kong.
What's even better ... all these comes with an attractive price, starting at $15 for a set for two.
A set comes with a hotpot with ikan billis soup base and 2 plates of assortment of steamboat ingredients like
prawns, meat slice, cuttlefish, fish balls, meat balls, crab sticks and so on ...
And yes ... the cockles ! Dip quickly into the hot soup and right into the satay sauce ... power!
Be prepared to be on your feet looking for an empty table especially on weekends.
