Hey ... have you guys ever wonder how many types of Pocky are there in the market ?

I have always enjoy eating this little snacks ... Glico Pocky chocolate and strawberry flavor
It's suitable for both boys or girls, man or woman, uncle or aunties love them as much as a kid do.

Recently ... I notice a box of Pocky in my fridge.
It's not the usual kinda Pocky we see as a kid.
It's coated with not just the strawberry cream ..it has tiny bits of strawberry bites.
Headed to the super market to grab few more boxes and to my surprise ...
There were a large selection of Pocky on dispaly !
Of course I did not buy a box of each ... lol !

Let's share the type of Pocky you have tried and put it up here ...
and let's see how many types there are ... ;)

I start the ball rolling with Pocky ~ Banana Flavor ! :p
It cost $4.70 from NTUC ...
Comes in a box with 4 individually pack of 3's.
The biscuits is heavily coated with thick banana cream n coated with choclate swirl on the outside.
I prefer to eat it when the chocolate is slightly harden after leaving it in the fridge for awhile.
Other than it's more expensive ... this is a good snack while watching teeV :yay:

Wow, that's a king size pocky you've bought. Admittedly, I've only been eating the cheap 1 dollar chocolate/strawberry flavoured ones all my life. :o But seeing how much that cost, do you think it's more worth getting 4 packs of regular pocky instead. I know, I know...they taste different altogether! :p

edit:
Okay, after seeing your pocky again, I felt the urge to get some too. I can only afford the cheap ones though :(. There's two types of packing, so I chose the new type to see what was the difference. Apparently the new type has a foil wrapping inside the box, makes it look a wee bit more 'high class'. (The classic one uses a translucent plastic wrapper, remember?) Also, I think the chocolate coating were more uniform compared to some of the messy sticks I've encountered from classic. There's definitely some quality improvement there, and both still cost 80 cents. :mischieve:

Was at the neighborhood supermarket just now to get some glico pocky ...
those type ( Thailand made ) which Peacy bought. :mischieve:
I am eager to find out if it taste better than the classic version we eat since a kid.
Sadly ... they were selling at $1.00 and I refused to pay 20cents more than alleycat !

So ... I bought this one below instead :D

Pocky ~ Almond Crush

Price at $1.60 a pack ... biscuit stick coated with chocolate and crushed almond.
Packed in a stylish golden wrapper ...
The almond is crispy and matches really well with the chocolate cream.
Though is slightly more expensive than the normal type ... the almond worth the extra cents.

This one however ... is also Thailand made.

Let's call this The Slim Pocky.

It's stated on the box in Japanese which should mean ... "extremely fine/thin"
This one product from Japan thus the higher pricing at $3.20 a box.

My breakfast with a cuppa Nescafe Gold ~
Was wondering how the plastic wrapper looks like ...
I am now becoming more curious how different Pocky are dressed up.
Lightly tear open the box and it reveals 2 individually packed smaller packs.
It's white with golden wordings.

Tear open the plastic foil and me greeted with really thin pocky.
It's about half the thickness of the usual type. So thin ...
One smaller pack looks like the serving size of the classic version

Quickly grab a stick n pop it into my mouth ... yum yum ... :D
The biscuit is so crispy ... breaks with a click sound.
It's coated with dark chocolate thus a slight bitter after taste.

Another interesting find for me. Slim Pocky ! :yay:

I'm quite amazed to see that there are actually so many types of Pocky floating around. Today I saw a milk flavour Pocky at NTUC, it cost $2.15 and around the size of regular Pocky. I'm not buying it.

p/s: Hey, you may have a gold wrapper, but my silver wrapper is stylish and prettier! :p

Men's Pocky !?

Woman cannot eat ?

From the name men's ... I would safely guess it must be something coated with dark chocolate.
And yes I was right.
Opening the box revealed 2 individually packs in white wrapper.
Stylish as always.
Since it's for men ... I got Simon to eat it.
From his facial expression ... I got the answer right away.
As he did not like dark chocolate ... bitter after taste.
The other pack still lying around on the table.

Selling at $3.20 a box ... it's suitable for those who know how to appreciate dark chocolate.
