New World Mutton Soup (Jln Berseh)

Jalan Berseh Cooked Food Centre
Singapore 209037

Business Hours: 11.00 am to 8.30 pm

I will have given you a firm no if you were to invite me for a mutton feast few years back.
Never like the "smell" of the meat especially in soup.

But ... if you were to ask me to go for mutton soup, be it chinese style, indian style or even mutton steamboat ...
I would gladly accompany you for it now ....

I fell in love with mutton soup ... it all began when I started fishing
I used to be rather weak and have to wear thick jacket when doing late nite fishing then
We used to patronize the famous jalan kahyu roti prata for supper and Simon will always order a
bowl of pipping hot mutton soup for me.
Without much resistant I will take a few sip as he keep telling me it's good for you ... drink lah ...
Slowly without myself realising ... I am craving for mutton soup ....any style. lol !

And yes ... believe it or not ... I am not afraid of cold as much as I used to be ;)

Alright ... will kick start the Mutton Mania with the New World Mutton Soup at Jalan Berseh.

The Chinese seldom eat mutton.
This soup is taken as a tonic. Many medicinal herbs are used in its preparation.
Fresh slices of ginger as well as lots of coriander leaves are used as garnish.

Simon prefers to eat his without the coriander leaves as he dislike the smell of the leaves.
Thus the plain looking bowl of soup but it taste deliciously good.
The pieces of meat with a lining of fat is mouth watering.
And so are the tendons from the feet of the goat ...yum yum.
You can have a bowl of the fragrant soup, eaten with rice or yam rice.
This bowl of soup is especially good on a rainy day when the weather is cool.

I tried their mutton balls noodles for the first time ...
And it taste as good eating it with rice.
The mutton balls were excellent match with the herbal soup.

This is one mutton soup stall which I will strongly recommend.
It's that good. :yay:

Very detailed review of the stall, I'll be sure to try it if I every drop by there. If I see you there, it's going to be your treat! :D I personally like indian style mutton soup better and I love eating them during a cold rainy day. I've tried chinese style mutton soup but never the mutton balls you've shown here. Looks interesting enough for me to try again.
