Chicken House
255 Upper Thomson Road
Singapore 574382

Tel: 6456 0698

Simon is a die hard fan of chicken rice, white chicken only for him. ;)

Chicken House ... located in a unit of shop house along Upp Thomson Road.
You probably miss the eatery as their signage has a huge crab instead of a picture of a chicken.

Kampong Chickens are different from the typical type of chicken which are injected with hormones.
The birds are allowed to run freely instead of rearing in rows of small cages like the normal chicken.
The chicken "running" activities allowed to train up their legs and bodies muscles
which make the meat firmer and nicer to eat.

Chicken House served only kampong chicken which is smaller and slimmer
The meat is so much tender compared to normal chicken.
Yellowish in colour probably due to the yellow giner they used in the process of cooking
It is definitely more healthier to eat due to the lesser fats in the chicken.
The rice is frangrantly ... not too oily.
I love the chillie sauce with a small amount of ginger paste.

They provide nice chicken soup to go along with the meal.
Other side dishes you may wish to try are the crystal chicken feet in thai sauce, jelly fish
or lettuce in oyster sauce.
Love the crunchy white transparent jelly fish ... nice appetizer to begin the meal with.

I love white chicken too, but they tend to go bad faster than any other styles. Haven't tried Kampung chicken though, but that big drum looks too irresistible to pass out. Oh yes, I love the chicken feet too, they go really nice with the whole chicken rice set.

A chicken rice chain with several branches around town.

A foodilicious name, 5 stars...., but the food taste otherwise ...
After trying out the Kampong Chicken rice at their Upp Thomson Road branch, I am sad to say, I didn’t like my chicken rice much.

The rice tasted alright though I felt it was a tat too oily.
The chicken, though tender was overdosed with sesame light sauce which causes the dish to be salty.
They uses "Black King", a superior type of kampong chicken.
Half a bird cost $12.

An eatery, I will not purposely drive down just to eat the chicken rice.

Have tried their other branches in Chinatown and Changi Village before.
Those two branches served good chicken rice though.

Perhaps we were just at the wrong place.

Khoon Fong Wee Chop Coffee Shop
Blk 265 Bukit Batok East Avenue 4 #01-405
Singapore, 650265

This stall actually sells chap chai peng ( mixed vegetables rice ).
Eating their mixed vegetables rice almost everyday now.
Then ... they introduce chicken rice into their menu.
I do not expect a stall selling mixed vegetable rice can produce good chicken rice.
But he proves me wrong.

One afternoon, Simon packed the chicken rice for lunch.
I took a spoonful of the rice ... to my surprise it taste really good.
Rice is not oily and full of fragrant.
Next day, went to the coffee shop and had chicken rice for lunch.
The chicken is so tender, really makes you drools at the juicy meat.

Selling at very economical price, you have to give it a try should you be there.
Remember ..it's Blk 265 Bukit Batok West Avenue 4.
The kopi tiam right in front of the tau longkang ( monsoon drain ).
