Ampang Yong Tau Foo,
义和餐室(客家)正宗安邦酿豆腐
928 Upp Thomson Road
Singapore 787121

Business Hours : 0930 - 2000

I have always like to eat yong tau fu, it's light and healthy.
I especially like it with the yummy yellow noodles with those sweet sauce
and plenty of sesame seeds scattered over it.

One day while we were figuring out where to have lunch ...
Simon surprised me with this Ampang Yong Tau Fu along Upp Thomson Road.

What surprised me was ...they only served rice with the yong tau fu.
So either eat it plain or with rice.
This hakka yong tau fu is a little different from the usual yong tau fu we normally eat.
It is served with a generous amount of leafy kangkong ( eng chai ),
top with a thick starchy sauce .... makes the kangkong so delicious you wish there were more of it.
You'll be amazed how everything blends in so well ....
There's fish ball, tau fu steamed and fried type, quail eggs, lady's finger etc ...
The wantan and fried bean curd skins so crispy, eat it with the gooey gravy ...yum !

They also serve wanton soup.
But I find their wanton soup not very nice.

The place is always crowded especially during lunch time n weekends.
Parking can be a headaches there.
But ... it sure worth the wait ;)

Hey is this the one where they sell Duck rice just beside them? If that was the one, I've tried it before too and I find it pretty nice. Yes, it's usually quite a crowd during mealtimes and sometimes you got to stand and wait for a seat. That restaurant has been there pretty long as well. Nice find.
