Tide level & Moon phase

yooo...
can someone enlighten me on:
1) how to check high or low tide? any websites?
btw, i believe high tide period will be optimum to go fishing? right?

2) i heard moon phase affects fishing too?? how to see that?
when is it optimum to go fishing?

3) for changi kelong walk...where is a good spot to cast from? i tried from the bridge once. wanted to try along the railings, but there were rocks below and i didnt want my hook to get stuck there. though i saw a group caught a KBL there.

don't want to make pointless fishing trips again...

Check out the tide table from NEA, it tells you the high and low tides (denoted by H and L) of the day. Whether which tide is best for fishing is debatable and very subjected to the place you're fishing. But for most shore places high tide is preferred because fishes come closer to the shoreline to feed and therefore easier to reach. You will want to pay attention to the current as well, the turn of tide (high and low) often trigger fishes to feed more actively.

For the Kelong Walk, I can't really advise you because I've yet to fish there. I've been there once and I thought dropping straight down does have potential for some decent fishes like groupers and KBLs, would be nice to do some handlining. You can try to chat up with some of the anglers there, they might offer you some very useful advice on fishing there.

and friday night/Sat morning, seems like a high tide. which is perfect. hopefully i'll be here with a CR on Sat morning =)

btw...whats the rationale behind the fact that hit rate is much lower after rain?
is it cos the water is cold, and the fishes just hide and not swim around?

Yep, one thing is the temperature (especially with prolonged rain) , another is rainwater(freshwater) from land will gush down into the sea affecting the water salinity.
