Re: Clementi canal
I've never fished in that canal before, but it's a pretty long canal so depending on where you fish I bet you can get some other interesting fishes there. I've heard people land kois in that canal, which part of it exactly I don't know. It is also very likely you'll find snakeheads in that canal as well. Good luck hunting there and welcome to HLF.

Oh thanks.I saw this brownish fish in the canal but it would not bite. The tilapias there are plentiful but i recommend against eating them cause the waters there can be quite polluted.

Re: Clementi canal
It would help if you have a picture of the fish, is the fish stationary in a position or moving around? I agree with eating less of fishes from canals especially those nearing industrial or city areas, the pollution level can be pretty high.
Re: Clementi canal
It was stationary and rather long. It was too far to get a picture. On my recent fishing trip i also saw a long black fish. Again,I have no idea what it is

Re: Clementi canal
If it's stationary, it's more likely to be a snakehead or even a marble goby if it stays all the way at the bottom. Snakeheads tend to hang near surface when there's no disturbance for easy access to air.

Snakeheads can be caught on lure if you work it right. They love frogs, so you can try frog lures or evenreal frogs. Big earthworms is another great bait. Try not to spook the fish, snakeheads can get very wary in open space and when it detects your prescence.

Re: Clementi canal
It might have a good run and got a mate before ending up in someone else's stomach. It's worth it.
