Hi chanturtle, welcome to hlf. There are several south islands which you can go using private charters or ferries managed by Sentosa. But basically, all the recreational islands are under Sentosa. Technically speaking, you must get a permit from them in order to stay overnight at any of the southern islands.

The islands that you may go are Sisters' Islands, St John's Island, Kusu Island and Pulau Hantu. For Kusu Island and St John's Island, you can take the ferry managed by Sentosa which costs 11 dollars for a two way ride to either islands. You can buy the tickets and board at Marina South Pier.

For other islands, you may need to charter your own boat to ferry you there. That would mean that you need to pay the cost for the entire boat, which can cost about 200 dollars. You may want to round a few friends to share the cost. I believe you can charter private ferry services at Marina south pier as well.

For Semakau Landfill, you have to approach SFAS for permission as the organize day fishing trips there. Purely Catch and Release and no overnight.

I have always wanted to go Skodok Island to fish as I have heard many stories for great fishes there.

So I went asking around and got some info ...

Boatman: Chua Kok Heng
Hp: 96661676

Boarding at Changi ... He will ferry 12 pax to and fro the island for $60.

Just let him know what time to come pick you guys up at skodok when you're done fishing.

Any more info, call the boatman ....

I hope this little info helps ..

Good Luck

Thanks for sharing this information desleyhan, it certainly is very useful. Yes, I'm sure we all heard that it's a paradise for surfcasters and it's a great place to hunt for big stingrays. I've never been on the island before, but I would sure like to. Not so much to fish, but explore the island. :p

I have never been there but have somehow gathered some info:-

No proper toilet ..
No jetty .. you'll be fishing onshore - heard that there's a big rock where a couple of guys can stand on to fish ...
You can stay there nights after nights ...
No shops available...
No shelter ... only some trees
No lights in the nite ... bring own pump lamps
Bring mosquito repellent or coil
