Can someone tell me how to maintain a Drum Reel after using it? As to keep it in tip-top condition.
Example, lubricant, wash etc.
I recently bought a Drum Reel so I want to keep it new and good.

Re: Drum Reel Help
For lubrication just do it once every few weeks, lubricate area like the handle join, the line guide area if there is, joint between handle and reel.
After each trip just set the drag to max and rinse under water can le, don't submerge it under water.

Wash it especially after saltwater trips
Usually its not where you fish but how you fish .

Re: Drum Reel Help
Very good advices given already, the rinsing part is very important because it flushes the salt out. Remember to let it dry in open space for a few days before keeping it back into the box or cabinet. Don't open the reel unnecessarily, especially if you're not sure on its assembly. You can also bring it to tackleshop to service your reel.
