Did you catch this fish in our waters ?

Look at it with a quick glance ... it looks like a red chinaman to me ...

* a deep elongated pit between the eye and nostril

Taking a closer look ... notice some black at the tip of the first dorsal fin ...
Hmmm ... Peace, any idea what fish is this ?

dBs, that's not the red chinaman but you got very close to the answer with that observation on the black tip fin. It's a Blacktip Grouper.

Patrick, may I ask if this fish is caught locally?

I thought it did look like a grouper.

yupp it was caught in local waters.... it was caught on the trip that i didn't go with my dad and uncles

Its Some kind of grouper ..... Coral Trout? Nah! Coral trout have blue spots.... Or Its A Juvinile Coral trout?

Don't worry about it, there might be actually such fishes along our borders like horsburg.
