I have a 7-ft rod with 5 guides.I wanted to combine it with a round profile surf cast reel.Or should i combine it with a spinning reel???

There's no need to stick too much to definition, just know how far you need to cast (that depends on your spot) and a rod of suitable length. 7 ft is probably a little short for typical beach fishing but it'll do fine on jetties or fishing close to shoreline. Spinning or overhead is more of a preference but if you want every inch of distance to count, overhead is probably a better choice.

Like I said, that's a personal preference. You also need to check if your rod is a spinning or an overhead rod.

I'm not too sure what type of a rod it is but I reckon it's a spinning rod. Spinning rods typically have very large rod guides near to the reel. That rod should handle a barramundi just fine, so don't worry about it.

yes its guide at thats near to the reel is quite big.... i ask this nood question coz so far i havent caught anything big yet...

Surf rods are long rods that enable anglers to cast far out from shore, usually 10 feet and above.
