Hi guys,
A friend of mine bought a sotong lure from NTUC for $2.55. But he has not caught anything with it at bedok jetty. Tried the whole night but not even a single bite. What's the proper way to play with the lure ? Or should he buy a sotong lure which are sold in tackle shops. Thank you in advance

There is a very well written article on squid fishing in our website ... here's the link :
http://www.handlinefishing.com/howtofis ... idfishing/
Egging is pretty challenging and it is not as easy as it looks ...
Takes lots of practice and learning.
Just a note here, catching squid on jetty can be a little different from catching squid on shore and offshore.
Why the different ?
Ans : The water depth and seabed ... so you will have to adjust your bait which is the squid jig, to reach your target which is the squid.
Happy reading and let us know if you don't understand anything Peace had written in the article.

You can drop by Punggol Jetty during weekend nights, there's usually a crowd luring for squids. You can see how they do it and probably get some pointers from the regulars there.
