I think it is some kind of emperor, caught east of pulau tekukor.

I believe that's a Spangled Emperor, and we don't often see such sizes in our waters anymore. Emperor this size is heck of a fight, more so than snappers I would say. That's a good catch.

The colours do match though it can vary with the habitat and stage of growth. The one gggbear is definitely a matured specimen. Pink ear Emperors typically don't grow as large as the Spangled Emperors.
