Beginner's Equipment

Post by lamerzia »

Fishing at jetties and canals near jurong lake, surf fishing with overhead tackles. Aiming for small to medium sized fishes . Budget around S$50.

What the possible rods and reels that i can buy and where is the shop located ? :)

It's a little tough to get a decent set of surf fishing tackles for 50 dollars, let alone an overhead set. You may want to consider Shimano Alivio rod and reel combo for starters, they're pretty decent for entry level but it's probably going to cost around 70-80 dollars. Drop by Tan Thong Cheong or Changi Pro, they variety of budget tackles you can choose from.

$50 dollars?
Hmm...ggo to joe tackle, they do sell tele+reel+line combos for mabye...near 30 dollars?
The also sell some Daiwa rods(older versions but not second hand)plus a few older Daiwa reels(diawa sweepfire) But you will have to buy your own line.Maybe 50-60 dollars?
For peaces option, the num is endless, from the tamban to maybe a queenfish(5kilos?10 even?)
