Me give you name
The fella you got is a Mouse Catshark (Galeus murinus)
These fellas belongs to the Northern Hemisphere though ... why are they in SGP waters ...
I think if you bring back liao bo bian liao ... dun eat liao ... You need to slaughter sharks once they're on board if you're planning to eat them. The fish must be bled and best is if you can fillet it straight away. Cos once the ammonia gets into the meat its as good as a donation to the bin center liao loh ...
If you want to try, you can fillet it, try mixing it with curry powder and batter then deep fry. As a guide, you need some strong spices to mask the smell.

Desley,
Same same de. Fishes like Tuna, Tenggirri and some other fast swimming fish must be bled straight away if it is for consumption. It is because the fishes swim fast because of a series of veins and arteries within their body, around the muscles.
If dun bleed, fishes like Tuna and Tenggirri got very bad fishy smell de ... and the meat doesn't look white/pinkish.
Me read up for the reason de ... wrong dun hoot me. But the bleeding practical side me tested liao ... its true.

Hi Desley, it's difficult to id the shark from that angle. It would help greatly if there's a side view of it. If we look at the picture closely, we can actually see light bands on the shark. My guess would be a Brownbanded bambooshark. You can see more pictures here. A cat shark would have a more slender head and eyes compared to bamboo shark but it's hard to judge. Tere could be right on a catshark too.
The phyiscal difference of a cat shark and a bamboo shark:
Bamboo Sharks (Taken from fishbase)
Cat Sharks (Taken from fishbase)
The most significant difference is that the cat shark has three fins at the bottom while the bamboo shark only has two (or so it seems)
Nice catch there by the way.

Thanks Peace for the info ..
Everytime I get fishes back from a fishing trip, I would throw it to my maid who will slaughter them.
And it happen the same for the shark above. So I wouldn't be able to check back how many fins were there.
The best part, after the info from Tere, I told my maid to throw those shark fillet away.
Will be heading offshore again this coming thursday on ah Pong's boat, hopefully I be able to distinguish them.
