Kayak Handlining in Batam
Dear all, I would be heading to Batam Turi Beach resort this weekend with my somewhat trusty handlines. Anyone fished there or handline from kayak before? My current strongest line is just a 40lbs mono and I have some 5, 8 and 10 hooks. Would be fishing with dead prawn and hopefully some live prawns. Any suggestions or comments?

Sounds like an exciting trip. Firstly, have you done boat fishing before? When you're fishing from a Kayak, you'll be drifting and it will be very different from what you fish from a stationary position. You can try using apollo rigs or jig heads and fish along coral reefs, you'll have lots of bites. Avoid strong current area and head back if the weather looks bad, make sure you have life vest on at all times.
