Hi newbie, welcome to HLF and a happy new year to you. 
It's the NE monsoon right now so you can expect weather conditions to be a little wet and windy. The weather has been good for the past two days, hopefully it can stay this way for another week for you.
Jigging is possible in our waters but more popular around Southern Islands. Jigging will generally yield better results than popping as you can target pelagic and bottom fishes, at least in Singapore waters.
