Estimate cost of repairs - Rod Guides

Post by Melw »

Hello Guys,
I would like to enquire how much would it cost(rough estimate) to repair my rod's guide?
It the 4/7 guide (center guide) of my Rod. (Eupro Twincraft TC-S62/6, Spinning)
Originally being a fuji guide.

Picture attached below,

It was damage by a guitar :(
& I would really like to know what kinda of quote to expect from the tackle shops. (Afraid of being ripped off)

Any help would be appreciated :)

It's going to cost more than changing a rod tip guide since rebinding is required and hence labour cost will be included, which should be around 8-10 dollars. The cost of the new guide will depend on what grade of Fuji guide you want, in all you shouldn't be paying more than 20 dollars.

You might want to call up a few shops and ask for a price quote before heading down. Also, you probably need to leave the rod with them for a few days depending how busy the rod builder is. I'm not exactly sure what Fuji guide it uses but Hardloy or alconite rings are very affordable and suitable for braided line use.
