Yeah, I've never tried it myself but from what people have told me is of the muddy smell too. Perhaps bleeding the fish will help with the taste as well as some spicy recipes.

PBs are generally good fishes for eating ive tried them myself by plain steaming without anything else.... quite not bad and i don find any muddy smell from it although ive tried from both longkang and a reservoir

Ok went to jurong lake on wed morning and caught 1 decent size PB so bring home and deep fry it to crunchy method...

Well this is what i can say... Taste good just eating like dat no muddy smell but if ure scared u can try soaking it in Tamarind water for about half an hour or so... That will kill of any foul smell...

Back to the PB it taste quite nice just eating it like that and i dip it with chilli sauce it would taste better if you dip it with sambal kicap(Slice Red Chilli with Slice Onion and Kicap(not sure in english or chinese name)stir it a bit and walla u have it Sambal Kicap)...

Btw PB is consider a good fight fish on handline... Even a decent size fish is hard to pull if ure not alert enough coz they tend to swim away fast once HOOK ON...
