Bedok jetty fishing

Post by Kim Bak Lor »

Hi,

I always fish at bedok jetty and I usually use apollo rig with cut prawns and i always see my rod tip bending but when i reel in there is always no hook up. This has been happening lately and get nothing back.. how to get hook up?

I think next time I will just have to use bigger bait? Recently got the wire fishing rig maybe gonna use size 1/0 hook with tamban or live prawn..

I guess the bending of the rod is the "ali baba" nipping your bait

It really depends on the heaviness of your setup and the size of the fish that is taking your bait at the time. If you're setting up to target for biggies but smaller fishes are trying to take your bait, I guess it cannot be helped. If it's a slow gradual bend downwards, it can be a crab eating your bait.

Wire rigs are good for targeting toothy fishes, but they live bait fish can't swim very well with wire trace especially if they're very short also.
