Activecast is a decent entry surf reel if you don't want to spend too much on a surf set. You should be able to get a discount if you get a surf rod from Sincere too, but I'm not sure what they have there. I would spend a little more on a Daiwa reel with quick drag like Windcast, the two step drag works kind of like that of an overhead or baitrunner. Good on using live baits.

The sub model number usually denotes the size of the reel and its capacity, so look for the bigger number. But you really need to look into the specs of each model to see how much line they can hold per diameter of line. In the case of activecast, it's a little hard to interpret because the specs from shimano official site doesn't seem quite right. The spec from this website seems more logical.

You have to decide on the type and strength of line for your reel. Mono lines holds less lines than braid because they're much thicker but they're a lot cheaper. Braid on the other hand, although more expensive gives you more casting distance because they're lower in diameter. Both have their pros and con but if you decide to go with mono, do get the bigger capacity ones. It is good to have at least 300m of line for surf fishing.

For overheads, you might need to spend a little more to get a decent reel. Daiwa sealine and Abu 7000c3 are good choices that which are just over $200, not sure of the latest models though.
