Wah Tere getting more and bigger squids, I think I might have to go steal some of your squids if my spots are drying up. And it is!

You dont really need "special" sotong rod to play squid ...
Any short setup will be able to provide you with hours of squidding fun.

You know those tackle shop has these very short fishing rod which comes with a small reel ..
Retailing like $10-$15 a set ?
Those are good enough.

I don't squid in the west so cant provide spot for you in the west.
The rules of thumb ... got sand got weeds got light ... got squid !

Just need to get any cheap cheap rod with thin thin braided lines can already.

I am a bit too extreme on Squid Fishing le ... Heee

West side I cannot really think of any, but got sand/rocks and weeds should have sotong.

The place was horribly crowded but understandable as it's weekend.
Water was low when we arrive ...
After landing the 2nd squid ... we went off for midnight drinks.

And here's the result of the night ...

Sorry to break the topic again, but what qualify as a good "Sotong Rod"? Like some details regarding length, action etc will be nice please same for reel... I went down Team 7 today but so much things to choose from until I blur le.

Sotong Rod = A very light rod that has got a decent backbone yet whippy tip. As light as possible so you can keep casting.

Sotong Reel = Basically any reel that is as light as possible.
