Wow, you hit the eeltail's nest, these are the good eating ones. The one I am looking for is the Gemang, but I am not entirely sure if it is the same species as the black eeltail catfish. That's a good picture though a little out of focus, I shall keep it for the time being. Thank you.
Edit: Oh, that crab should be a thunder crab.

Btw, I'm regular at West Coast. Been busy lately, so didn't have time to fish.

Most ppl will cook it the Adam pedas way or frying with chilly because it has some very.... fishy taste -.- like when u are eating mutton that kind of taste, just that it's from a fish. So chilly's probably the best way to cover that. I have friends who will fillet those big ones and deep fry them. Had reservations initially, but you'll be surprised how tasty it is. And ya, these are the ways how ppl will cook ah sengs / duri too.

The black cats are especially tasty ... if you know how to cook it.
Soft tender meat !

Chinese fry it and cook it with black sauce and ginger ...
You can also do the asam pedas way ...

lol. As long as you dont fish at the look out point, you're safe. catfishes swim very near to shore, even my float get catfishes every once in awhile.
If you intend to catch other fishes, I have seen mackerals jumping out of the water just beside the shore. Have also seen people land queenfish, but they throw quite far.
