Invitation Trip
I was invited to a private location for an overnight fishing with my friend fisher recently. We brought some live and dead prawns with us for the trip, not expecting much action. It turned out that it was quite an exciting night, losing a few biggies to line abrasion from the many structures there.
We only landed the fishes that were of manageable size.
A tiger grouper
A badly injured snapper
Rabbitfish caught in the following morning
We made porridge with the rabbitfish and snapper, it ain't bad at all!

Re: Invitation Trip
Nice ! It's being quite awhile we saw a CR from Peace.
In fact ... I myself have not done any onshore fishing for a whole year !
Thanks to all the heavy construction works ongoing in Punggol and closure of LBP jetty, Kelong walk etc ...
I am like a lost soul ... lucky that we can afford to go offshore fishing.
Even with offshore ... many overseas sites are badly affected by trawling activities.
Hianz ... sad but we just have to move on ... it's life.
Those rabbit fish are extremely delicious.
I like to steam them with just ginger slice, chili and light sauce.
Best if can have some extra salted fish bits ... marvelous combo.
Drooling liao thinking of it !
Just wondering what are those few mussels doing in the pail ?
Special baits !?

Re: Invitation Trip
mussels . . . very effective bait!
but water current needs to be suitable. they tear easily. long long time ago, roughly 15 years. on a kelong. mussels was available on stilts. it was one fish a piece. the reception was overwhelming.

Oops, sorry about that misleading title. But if I ever do organize a trip, there will be people running off to buy lottery.

Hope i'm not too late ~ Nice CR by Peace !
I bet you must have enjoyed the company, catches & misses and not forgetting about the great food you had !
Sometimes as anglers, its not about the catch that matters. To each individual they would like to have a peaceful and comfortable environment where there is lesser traffic of people, enjoy the company of friends fishing together, therefore some would preferred not to disclose their fishing location. With this i felt that we should respect each other and there's no need to argue over this ya ?

Re: Invitation Trip
Heh, fishing in Singapore has been getting harder by the year and I can see why people are hunting for new productive spots actively. Fishing spots are lost every year and very soon we will really be fishing at one common fishing hole. Disclosure of fishing spot has always been a sensitive issue among anglers, so do respect their decision no matter what the reason might be.
